02 · The doubt
Self-doubt is not data.
After version seven, you cannot read your own deck anymore. You see what you meant, not what is on the page. Your cofounder is invested, your friends are polite, and the investors who pass rarely tell you why. So the same question loops without an answer, and the send button never gets pressed.

Rating questions.
How do I know if my pitch deck is good enough?
You cannot know from inside your own head, and friends are structurally too kind. The reliable test is adversarial: put the deck in front of readers whose job is to find reasons to pass. PitchScan simulates that with five VC archetypes who debate your deck and vote, then maps the result to a clear readiness band.
Is my deck bad if it scores below 70?
No. Below 70 means the deck as written leaves objections open, which is the normal state of a draft. Most decks that eventually raised started there. The score is a snapshot of the document, not a verdict on the company or the founder.
I keep rewriting my deck. When should I stop?
When the rating stops moving. If two consecutive versions score within a few points and the remaining findings are things only traction can fix, further polish is procrastination. Send it and let real meetings generate the next round of edits.
How accurate is an AI rating of a pitch deck?
It is calibrated on recurring diligence patterns, so it is strong at spotting structural weaknesses: unsupported projections, top-down markets, thin moats. It cannot rate what is not in the PDF, like your speaking ability or your relationship with the investor. Treat the rating as the floor of scrutiny you will face, not the ceiling.
