What each grade means for your raise.
A grade is only useful if it maps to a decision. Here is how to read yours.

02 · Why a committee grade
One reviewer flatters. A room votes.
A single reviewer, human or AI, tends to average your deck into a polite 7/10. A partnership does not work like that. One partner attacks your CAC math, another your market construction, a third asks why an incumbent will not ship your roadmap next quarter. Your real grade is what survives that argument.

Grading questions.
What grade do most pitch decks get?
The committee is told to score like a real investment committee: most cold decks land between 40 and 75 out of 100, which is the C to B+ band, and 85 or above is reserved for genuinely exceptional decks. An A on a first upload is rare, and that is the point.
Does the grade take my stage into account?
Not in the letter itself. The grade is a fixed map from the 0 to 100 score, so the same score is the same grade whether you are pre-seed or Series A. Where your stage does count is the $5 report: it is one of the signals used to pick which 7 to 10 personas out of the bank of 11 read your deck. Read the grade as a measure of the deck, not of your round.
What grade should my deck have before I send it to investors?
Aim for A- or better before a cold send, because a cold email gives you one glance. If a warm intro is carrying you into the room, a B+ deck can work, but you should know exactly which objections it leaves open and have answers rehearsed.
Can I get my deck regraded after fixing it?
